KAMPS holds free eye camps for poor eye patients regularly as an annual program. Over the last decade, KAMPS has arranged cataract surgery for 3,050 eye patients.
Usually, patients register during the annual free medical camp organized by KAMPS in Tangail in February. The patients are then divided into groups and brought to Dhaka for surgery in phases.
KAMPS coordinates with hospitals such as The Lions Eye Hospital, Bangladesh Eye Hospital, and others to arrange the operations. Patients receive facilities for staying two to three days in Dhaka, along with meals and transportation from KAMPS, completely free of cost.
KAMPS officials remain engaged in bringing patients to Dhaka and returning them to their homes. This initiative of KAMPS has been a dependable source for poor eye patients to receive cataract surgery and see the light of the earth again.
